AGI Aware is a non-profit organisation with the mission of ensuring that there is a broad public awareness of the impacts that the progression of artificial general intelligence will have on them. We strive to ensure governments implement a people first policy in their dealing with global AI companies.
What is artificial general intelligence (AGI)?
Artificial general intelligence refers specifically to an AI system with capabilities that match or exceed humans in any task.
What impact does AGI have on me?
All the most prominent figures in AGI research expect AGI to be reached by 2030. They also all concede that once AGI reaches a level of intelligence that surpasses the collective intelligence there is no way to know what the outcome will be. The public are desperately unaware of this and the infinite amount of negative potential outcomes. Significant public figures put the chance of human extinction due to AGI as high as 20% in the next 10 years.
What can I do?
Petition governments to stop all training, building and progression of general super intelligence until it can be proven that advanced AGI can be controlled with a globally scalable working mechanism.
